Vintage Flowers

I cannot lie, I was looking at cards made with the Language of Friendship set, and came across this beautiful card. It's just so elegant, I had to reproduce it. Although, changed slightly. Gotta give credit to the original artist.

Woodgrain Freindship Birds

This is my latest stamp set, and punches!!! So much fun! I wanted to share what I created!

As I was taking the picture of the supplies I used, I noticed there was little bird feeties.  Hmmm..I better put feeties on mine!  I opened my case, and not feet.  Yep, through the garbage I went a digggin'.  I forgot to pull them off the foam.  :( I'm just glad I noticed before I dumped my little can into the big one outside.  That would've been yukky!

Return of Spring

I found this background on Splitcoast stampers. I tried it with my Cricut. I wanted to try it again with my stamps. This time I smeared the daffodil on the block, then on the paper (regular white paper) then again with certainly celery in diffent spots. Since the craft ink remains wet for a while, it smeared the colors together. What a fun background. Can't wait to try it in more colors, and with the regular pads as well.

Spring Trees

I made a card using this stencil about a year ago.  That one was a get well card.  I used some darker colors on it.  I was feeling some spring fever when I made these.  I added blues, pinks and purples.  When you get out your stuff to make one card, you may as well make 3 or 4 right.  It doesn't take that much extra time.  Then you have a few for an emergency.  (or for a friends emergency)  I wanted to see how versatile this stencil could be.  I only used one technique, and I am please with how they turned out.

Recipe:
Dreamweaver stencil LG 690
Matte black embossing paste
mica powders or perfect pearls
SU Ink: versamark (to adhere the mica powder to the dried, embossed image.
Technique:  Mica Covering
the butterflies are SU  'beautiful wings'

this one I added some flowers, and a butterfly.

Hello, You Birdie

I was browsing around Spiltcoast Stampers and came across this technique, Stamped Acrylic Background . After the kids went home I had to do it.  It took me a couple times to get it down, at first I didn't get enough ink on the block.  I tried dabbing it on, that didn't work so well, then I just wipped the ink on.  That worked pretty well. I used the craft pads on glossy card stock.  It may have helped to read the tutorial but, I just looked at the pics!  ;) that's how I roll.

Technique- Acryllic Block
~Cricut Cartridge: Stamped
~Ink: SU craft inks tempting turquoise, always artichoke, daffodil delight,

Frosted Forest

This is the Christmas card I made for my love!
I used a stencil Dreamweaver Stencils! to make the trees.
Such a simple and elegant card.  If you look close at the picture you
can see all the glitter, just like you reached down and threw
a handful of snow on your card.

Hope you have a wonderful day! Photobucket

Lost in the woods

A birthday card I made for a friend of mines son.  He turns 15 today.
Happy Birthday Richard! I love you!

I used dreamweaver stencil LG849, with black embossing paste. After you spread the paste over the stencil, it is pretty simple. Just let it dry. Then I ripped the bottom, added the phrase from SU Wonderful Words, and the ribbon. Kind of a cool card for a 15 yr old boy, I think anyway. What do you think? Hope you have a wonderful day.

Moth

I went to Michaels a few weeks ago, and they had their scrapbooking paper on sale for .25 cents each. How can you pass that up?
I saw this paper and just wanted so badly to cut out the moth and put it around the flowers. So I layered it-but it didn't look right. It was missing sparkles. So I added so SU iridescent ice. I used SU-wonderful Words to emboss the 'celebrate'. I think this will probably go to one of the grandmas this summer for their birthday. It has that nostalgic feel to it. Hey! have a great day.

You're on my mind

I messing around with my chalks one day, and made this really great background. I just wasn't sure what to do with it. So guess where it went? yep- the magic unfinished box.
I used....SU-Upsy Daisy, and stampin' pastels. Rose red paper, cut with cake basics in two different sizes. Then I put some Su-iridescent ice on the butterflies. I knew I liked the rose red, so I had to check my color coach to see what was recomended - well baja breeze won!!! I added some sticky diamonds, and I think it turned out beautiful Let me know what you think! See you tomorrow!

Birdie Told Me! FCCB #34

Fantabulous Cricut #34 Create a project that has something to do with a bird.
The cartridge I used here was Live Simply although I am against WalMart having exclusive rights to these cartridges-My obsession with Cricut is stronger. :) The stamp set is from SU "teeny tiny wishes. Embossing on the background (baja breeze) I used the petals a plenty from SU. The embossing on the nest is a cuttlebug-floral screen. I really like how my cute little birdie came out. Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!!!!!

Garden Birthday

This last weekend we had lots of birthdays. We had one big birthday bash up at the Stark's. It was both of Dru's parents, two of his brothers, 3 of the kids birthdays (one of which is Shelby's). Much easier to just gather once than for everyone individual. This is the card I made for mom. I colored the picture in with pencils. The background is chocolate chip and embossed with a cricut folder on my big shot. Stamps: country garden from High Hopes stamps teeny tiny wishes SU Accessories: Misc gems, and hardware. Paper: DSP, Chocolate chip, Bashful blu, white Color: Pencils colored with alcohol.

Red Crossbill SC266

SC266 Feb. 3 2010 Sketch Challenge Paper: Bella Bleu 2009 Stamps: Spring Song -Stampin' Up! Accessories: Ribbon slide, button I used the sketch challenge to design this card. However I added a twist, is a gable fold card. I used my handy dandy score pal to score my card-on the dots that conveniently provided. This is first card I have made with this little birdy. I found a picture of a bird in my "Utah" bird book. So I decided to color it like the picture. Thank goodness for sale-a-bration right? I got this beautiful set for FREE! It has a lovely hummingbird I can't wait to use. I actually have a couple in mind I would like to use that for. I had a great time playing with my toys this afternoon. I think playtime is very important-don't you? TFL have a great night.

Dragonfly Wishes

On the day I was playing with Home De'cor I made this card for my best friends, Amber's Birthday. I am going to say it again- I am absolutely in love with this cartridge. I used crushed curry for the background flowers, and dragonfly. Rich Razzleberry was used for the card back, and to outline all of the images. I used Dusty Durango on the other dragonfly, flowers and leaves. The twigs are cut out of creamy caramel, and sponged with chalk on the leaves. All the sparkly stuff is SU iridescent ice. I sponged some color onto the paper before adding the sparkle. I used the canvas background stamp, on the crushed curry paper, before stamping I put the piece that had been cut out of the middle of the twigs. So that the area for the words would be plain. Then added some brads they are just pumpkin pie, but match beautifully. I may have to duplicate this card so I have one in my portfolio. TFL, I would love feedback. Thanks, have a great day!!!

A Simple Get Well

This is the card I made for this months swap challenge. The sketch we followed was SC75-from splitcoast. I used my cricut -"storybook" cartridge, to cut out the bird and the leaf trellises. The background is black, the trellis are last years in color baja breeze. The bird is rose red, and is holding some branches also from storybook. I don't usually do this much with the Cricut, but I have been on a kick lately. So let's see what elseI do. Thanks to you all, and have a great night.

Spring Card

Start by cutting the base for your card. Here I used chocolate chip. Cut to 10 1/2 x 5 1/4. Then fold the card stock in half making a 5 1/4 square. Open paper. Now fold the bottom side up to the center. As shown, creating a quarter fold.. Keep quarter fold on right, pull left bottom corner until it is even with the quarter crease. Open. And fold top left had corner down to quarter fold. Turn paper, now the quarter fold is on the left. Mark the center of the top. The sides are already marked with creases. Draw a line from the mark you made to the creases. These are the cutting lines. Now cut along the lines you drew. This will create a point. Apply a glue dot to the corner so it will stand up correctly. And finish the card. This is the one also featured in the cracked glass spotlight. I used "lovely as a tree" really rust, old olive, and close to cocoa. This card fits nicely in a 5 1/2 square envelope, and is really fun to recieve.
