Tequila Anyone?

Oh the delight on my face when one of my favorite regular clients called and asked if I could do a tequila cake for her grandpas 80th birthday!  The label was a little challenging.  All hand colored and painted.  The shot glasses, and limes are sugar paste.  Even the table top is cake.  Very fun to make.  This one goes in my hall of fame of cakes.  LOL

Littlest Pet Shop ~ Pony

This is for a cute little 2 year old that I babysit. She absolutely goes crazy for LPS. I printed out some pics for her to choose from. There was no doubt about it. She absolutley positively wanted the pony. So the pony she got.  The cake is vanilla with Butter cream frosting.  I spritzed the pink and turquoise on, and added the adorable pony to the top.  I love these colors!!!!  So fun.

Here is the little guy I used for inspiration!!

Buddha

T

his is my first real attempt at  making a butter cream transfer.  The other one I did was just for practice.  LOL  Anyway, I think it turned out really good.  He's a happy little Buddha, just what was ordered.   I will definitely do this technique again.

"Graal" iPhone Cake

I really love the challenge of making a cake with a theme that I haven't heard of.  I googled "Graal".  Apparently this is a game that is really popular on the iPhone.  The first picture is the pic that I chose to use as my inspiration!  I thought the thumbs were dang cute!!  I hope that Michael likes it.  Can't wait to make another!!!

Thank you for checking out my work.  I love to share.  Have a great day.

Skylander - gluten free even

I gotta say it's a little tricky to make a cake for something I'm not completely familiar with. I've never heard of Skylander until I was asked to make this cake. Thank goodness for Google. :)  Another twist for this project is the boy I made it for has Ciliacs disease.  So the cake had to be gluten free.  I'm used to using crisco in the bottom of the pan, then flour to keep it from sticking.  Well, flour has gluten.  I'm glad I thought about that before I ruined this expensive mix.  I used canola spray and waxed paper, worked like a charm.  Sometimes I am brilliant~ I tell ya.  Now if I worked with gluten free everyday, that would have been second nature.  But, for us amatures, ya gotta think about every step.  Including keeping my kitchen free from all gluten products.  It was a challenge, but one I faced, and conquered.  LOL

Farm Cake

I guess my cake did ok at the BBQ. A guy that Jason works with ordered two cakes...he has twins, a girl and a boy. This cute little farm cake is for the girl, Taylor. It's vanilla with butter cream frosting. She was so excited to see the cow. Because as we all know "cows are always on a farm."  She noticed every detail of the pigs, and pointed them out to the guests.  How cute is that!!
I gotta tell ya, this is one of my favorite cakes I've made.  Thank you so much for the opportunity!

Batman!!!! Old School

The brave and the bold. Batman is always a favorite! Here he is watching over gotham (ok technically New York, but we'll pretend).  Chocolate cake with cream cheese oreo filling.  OMG that flavor is one of my favorite.  Happy Birthday Alesha, and thanks Crystal for ordering your cakes from me.  I really appreciate you.
