Crown the Empire

I can not believe my daughter is 13 already.  Her favorite band is Crown the Empire.  Her favorite show is Dr. Who.  We combined the two ideas together. The top of the cake is a marble swirl done in black and gray.  The pictures of the band are printed on edible paper.  The birds and trees on the bottom of the cake are hand painted.  The cupcake toppers are printed, and placed into an airbrushed cupcake.  The flavors are delicious.  Yellow, and cherry chip.  Such a cool idea she had!

Bling Bling Hat Cake

Here is a big bling bling hat!  I should have made the non bow side a little taller.  Everything is edible except the bling on the bow.  That is only because it was a quick order.  The mom that this cake was ordered for didn't even cut the cake, she put it in the freezer so she can look at it.  She said a picture just wasn't the same.  It is the very popular vanilla with buttercream frosting.

Flower Wine Bottles

What do you do with those empty wine bottles? You reuse them!
I've been saving these bottles for awhile now, trying to decide what to do with them.
Then one morning, it came to me.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do with that blank space on top of my cabinet.  I bought the lights, then a month later, I started painting the bottles.  I displayed them, then another month went by, and I drilled the holes in the bottom to run the lights through.

Lil Swimmer

This is a cake I made for one of my daycare kids! He had a swimming birthday Party! The boy swimming is so cute.  The flippers out of the water just make it so much better.  The little fish, makes me smile.  The cake itself is vanilla with vanilla buttercream.  Then covered in fondant.  I tried to make it look as much like Archer as I possibly could.

Birthday Train

I've been trying to think of a clever way to display the children's birthday in our classroom. This is cute. Next time I do it (or redo it, because that's how anal I can be) I will laminate it before adding the eyes, and other 3D accents. DUH! Oh well, it serves it's purpose and looks adorable in the classroom.
The kids think it's super cute.  It will also match this years general them of woodland animals!

The entire train measures 58" x 16"

This is my favorite little guy!

and they have their cute balloons to show the dates of the kids birthdays!
