Mykitchenneeded a little changing. So I did a
couple things. First, I made this plaque. I saw a similar one on
Amazon. I decided I wanted it now, and I could probably make it cheaper,
also it would be fun to make! That's what I did. There is a story
to thewinesthat I chose. The Columbia Winery
Riesling was the first wine I ever liked! Moscato has become my favorite
wine. The Sutter Homes was the first one I tried of those.
Although, I have not met a bad Moscato.
I
started this project with a blank 16x20 canvas. Then added color with my SU wonder colorcrayons, in Early Espresso, Close to Cocoa, Cherry
Cobbler, and So Saffron. I then spread those colors around until I loved it.
Next, I used the "Very Vintage" wheel with old olive ink, and
rolled the entire background. Then, I used the "Bliss"
set from SU. I randomly stamped images in So Saffron, Early Espresso, and
Not Quite Navy". I sprayed it with some lacquer. Then began
the wine and glasses. I cheated and printed those from the computer, onto
card stock. And, thought~ how cool if I made more dimensional. So
I glued them on pieces of cardboard. Using different thicknesses. I used
mod podge to hold them together, and seal the top.
Now, my Cricut comes
intoplay. I used "Thanksgiving" for the
grapes, and vine, and "Ashlynn's Alphabet" for the lettering.
I am so happy with how this turned out! I love it love it love it.
I put the deco podge all over the entire plaque to protect it, since I
want the rough look, and not in a frame. Oh ya, I also used Early
Espresso to antique the edges. :) happy happy me!
Cricut Cartridges: Ashlynn's Alphabet, Thanksgiving
SU Paper: Old Olive, So Saffron, Black
SU Stamps: "Verry Vintage Wheel", "Bliss"
SU Colors: Old Olive, So Saffron, Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy
Hope you have an excellent day! Thank you for visiting me!
I was browsing through some training help for SU demonstrators and was reminded of the Faux Metal technique. This set immediately came to mind. I made the tag then struggled with making the rest of the card. I thought it would look good with the very vintage wheel. So this is what I created. For now the card is sitting in my box of techniques collection. I mess up a lot, so I am sure I will be using this 'sorry' card very soon ;)
Recipe:
Technique: Faux Metal
Stamp Sets: SU "Very Vintage", "Teeny Tiny Wishes", "Four Frames"
Ink colors: Soft Suede (pad, and cartridge)
Ribbon: Crochet trim
Accessories: SU Paper Daisies, Glimmer Brads
Paper: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Not only does Shanice's girlfriend get a bachelorette party
but she also gets a bridal shower. Totally spoiled right.
So this is the invitation that we came up for this one.
Shanice wanted to do a date night theme for the party.
This is what I came up with.
Now they are designed-she just has to put them together.
Shanice went to the store and looked for the perfect background paper.
She brought some over for me to look at. We didn't like any.
So I created this one. On plain white cardstock, using my
SU very vintage wheel with soft suede. Then I stamped this perfect
little peacock from SU very thankful in the brides colors. You see
the brides thing is peacocks. So this became the background.
Envelopes, stamped in tempting turquoise.
Please check back on this one too-I am also making
a bridal shower cake for this party!!!!
I had a lot of plans over this last week end.
One of which included a wedding!
So I had to make a quick card--but I wanted it
to be personal and elegant. I used my computer to print
on the card. I was very impressed with myself-because I got
it to print where I wanted it the first time.
The heart is from home decor.
The background is rolled with SU very vintage
I later learned that their wedding colors were brown and pink.
If only I'd a known, oh well right.
Thank you for stopping in today.
Hope you a great one in store for you!
Used campout to cut the froggy. On the picture I used Paint.net to add
wording to it, before I printed it. I am sure it has been done before.
But I thought I was quit ingenious. teehee
The background is on white cardstock rolled with the SU Very Vintage wheel
in Tangerine Tango. Trimmed with some Tango paper, that has been stamped
with another one of sets from 1997 Desert Scapes.
The motorhome is cut from Early Espresso, and Baja Breeze.
Aren't those colors just wonderful together!!!! They just make
me all tingly.
Well now I have aged myself. But I think there comes a point in your life
when you are ok with who you are. You know your getting older-
and find consolation that so is everybody else. I find myself looking forward
to grandchildren. Although my oldest is only 20, and still lives at
home. So I think a few more years would be appropriate.
Our colors were black and red so I was trying to keep my LO with matching
colors.
the paper is from SU: sahara sand
stamps: Jumbo Wheel; very vintage rolled in basic gray
the butterfly is a misc one I picked up a long time ago, and stamped in
red riding hood.
accessories: ribbon, and ribbon slide, misc stickers
punch: SU corner punch
Cartridge: Cursive 101 for "senior"
Have a great day!! See you soon.
Hi, and welcome to Skipping Stones Design’s Blog Hop(e) for Haiti. If you just happened upon my blog today, you’ll want to go back to the beginning at Skipping Stones Design.
Otherwise, you should have just arrived from
As a company, we wanted to do something to give back to the people who have been so devastated by the Haitian Earthquake. So we thought what better way than to invite some of our favorite stampers to join us in this cause. Each card you see on the blog hop today will be auctioned on E-bay with all proceeds going to the Red Cross in support of the Haitian Relief Effort (please check the Skipping Stones Design Website for the link to the auction). 100% of the proceeds of the Ebay auction and $2.00 from every stamp set purchased from February 16 - 22 will be donated to the Red Cross. We know that we can make a difference.
and here is the card I made for the auction, TFL.

I was asked by a good friend of mine to participate in Hop(e) for Haiti, I was touched that she asked me, I am not a wealthy woman, but I do love to stamp and create. So this is a great opportunity to help those in need. Thanks to all of you who are participating. Yes, I believe that we can make a difference.
When I first got my set in the mail, I seen this beautiful dove and thought "wedding" but in what colors. One of my favorite gray colors is Sahara Sand, so I paired it with Bashful Blue (both SU). There is also a beautiful star included in this set which I stamped and punched to make the hearts that are attached to the ribbon. The bird and the hearts are embossed in iridescent ice (SU) and they really sparkle.
My sources:
Stamp:Skipping Stones Christmas Swirls
-very vintage wheel -Su
-wedding wishes SU
Paper: Sahara Sand, Natural White, White
Ink: Sahara Sand, Bashful Blue, Versamark w/iridescent ice
Other: 3 heart punch, organza ribbon in white, my prettiest kit (SU)
Now how about a prize? In addition to the fabulous eye candy, Skipping Stones has decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop! There will be a few pre-release sets up for grabs hidden along the blog hop. The fun part is...we're not telling you who it is! So as you hop, make sure you leave comments on every post so you have a chance to win!!
Thanks you for stopping by our next hop is to
