Good Wine

PhotobucketMy kitchen needed a little changing.  So I did a couple things.  First, I made this plaque.  I saw a similar one on Amazon.  I decided I wanted it now, and I could probably make it cheaper, also it would be fun to make!  That's what I did.  There is a story to the wines that I chose.  The Columbia Winery Riesling  was the first wine I ever liked! Moscato has become my favorite wine.  The Sutter Homes was the first one I tried of those.  Although, I have not met a bad Moscato.

I started this project with a blank 16x20 canvas.  Then added color with my SU wonder color
crayons, in Early Espresso, Close to Cocoa, Cherry Cobbler, and So Saffron. I then spread those colors around until I loved it.  Next, I used the "Very Vintage" wheel with old olive ink, and rolled the entire background.  Then,  I used the "Bliss" set from SU.  I randomly stamped images in So Saffron, Early Espresso, and Not Quite Navy".  I sprayed it with some lacquer.  Then began the wine and glasses.  I cheated and printed those from the computer, onto card stock.   And, thought~ how cool if I made more dimensional.  So I glued them on pieces of cardboard. Using different thicknesses.  I used mod podge to hold them together, and seal the top.

Now, my Cricut comes into play.  I used "Thanksgiving" for the grapes, and vine,  and "Ashlynn's Alphabet" for the lettering.  I am so happy with how this turned out!   I love it love it love it.  I put the deco podge all over the entire plaque to protect it, since I want the rough look, and not in a frame.  Oh ya, I also used Early Espresso to antique the edges.  :) happy happy me!
