Princess Castle

My girlfriends daughter is going to dance for Disney World.  That is a long way from home.  Needless to say the mom is a little nervous, happy, and distraught.  There really isn't much I can do, except be her friend (that's easy though).  I offered to make this cake, to make things a little easier.  I know their whole family like fruity cakes, so I made this one a Cherry Chip.  I love almond, so it satisfies me too. Ok on to the challenge this fits into.  Fantabulous Cricut Challenge me Monday # 210 .  'Celebrate  Mom'  although it was made for the daughter going away, it was a favor for the mom.  Kinda a two in one deal!!  The entire cake is edible.  We also made decorations to match (but they were definitely for the daughter)  LOL

My Favorite Princesses

It was so funny when I went to Michael's to get some paper, stickers, etc. You know the typical stuff you do, when preparing to scrapbook. So there are papers, kits and sticker of princesses. I would pick them up and think oh those are cute. Then as I thought about it, Ariel, Belle, & Mulan weren't around when I went to Disney Land as a child. Such a reminder that I am getting older. My daughter asks me if I met Ariel, sadly I did not. When I took my boys they weren't interested in meeting the "princesses" but here are some pages I did of the two different times I went with my dad.
Featuring my favorite princesses! Princess Aurora is my favorite. Just a little FYI for ya! I absolutely love the fairies. I think they turned out so cool. My cricut never ceases to amaze me.
I This is the layout for the second year that we went. Still with my favs. Thank goodness there are so different poses you can do.

JB # 29 Dragon's

Just Buggin' Challenge #29 Make a Man themed project. Cake decorating is one of my other hobbies. I have collected many pans over the years. This is the cake I made for Dru's Birthday. He likes dragon's. I have had this cake pan for years, I picked it up at a yard sale--because it looked cool. It has sat downstairs for a few years. I am glad to finally be able to use this. I am pretty pleased how it turned out. If someone would have told me when I bought this cartridge "Happily Ever After" that I would be making my boyfriends birthday card. I would have said "you are silly" But Mulan actually has quit the awesome dragon, and I love the tree. This card is a little out of my box, but I like how it turned out. After I cut out the dragon I embossed him in gold. The tree is cut out of always artichoke, and soft suede. The paper is SU! DSP- soft suede, and the gems-I picked up a while ago from oriental trading. (sometimes they have some good finds.) I hope you enjoy my manly card-for my favorite man. Have a great day.
