New Years and Birthday Bash

For Kandi..... This year Kandi decided to have a birthday party for her birthday! You see her birthday is on Dec. 31. I usually spend it at home in my jammies playing games with the kids, and Jake & Kandi. I laughingly said "I'll come, if I can wear my pj's " **a theme is born** I whipped up these cute little invites, for her. The cartridge I used was everyday paperdolls cut at 2 1/2". I used some retired DSP for the jammies. The colors I stamped the background was pretty in pink, baja breeze, kiwi kiss, & black. The champagne glasses are from cheers to you, colored with the blush blossom crayon, and added some dazzling diamonds. Her party is tonight and I am very excited to celebrate the New Year with some great friends. So Happy Birthday! Check back tomorrow to see the Birthday card I made for her.

2009 Christmas Cards

My goal this year was to use every single Christmas stamp set that I had. "snow globe" "snowglobe" "flaky friends" This is one I picked up at the dollar store-many many moons ago. It is embossed in iridescent ice on always artichoke, then accented in baroque burgandy. "snow swirled" dual embossed with clear and gold using the glorious green craft pad.

Cracked Snowflake

This technique is the cracked glass http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials. /cracked_glass/ The colors I chose were so saffron, lovely lilac, bordering blue, pale plum. The card is a spring card http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/spring_card/. And the stamp set is snow swirled.

Snow Topped Trees

Set: lovely as a tree, serene snowflakes Colors" always artichoke, chocolate chip, white emboss, white craft pad ribbon: bravo burgandy I used the white craft pad to stamp snowflakes all over the always artichoke. I used always artichoke to stamp the trees on the white card stock. Added some dazzling diamonds to make it look had fresh sparkly snow had fallen. The greeting is embossed.

Stitched Friends

An old stamp set revived with a new color. set: flaky friends. colors: rich razzleberry, and the in color markers. I used an oval template to cover up an area for the snowmen, while stamping outside the oval with rich razzleberry and bermuda bay. Then I stitched around the oval, stamped the snowmen in the center. Used the wonderful in color 2009 markers to add color. I then tied the card with a polka dot rich razzleberry ribbon. And stamped the greeting on the bottom. Pretty simple card to make- but I tink it turned out pretty cool. TFL Have a great day.

HO HO HO: Just Buggin' #17

Challenge #17: Ink your die cuts and/or project Santa, Mrs. Claus, and little helper elf. I used the paperdolls cartridge. Mr. & Mrs. Claus are cut at 11 1/2, the elf is at 9 1/2. I used plenty of ink on these, to fit in with the Just Buggin challenge #17. I added shading around all of them with basic gray. Mrs. Claus's dress is stamped with some flowers and I added some stripes to the elfs shirt. I used them for nothing more than decoration, and some inspiration for my daycare kids. They made mini-Santas, and put them on cards for their parents. This cartridge is so fun to make decorations for every holiday. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. God bless. TFL ~ladybug

Card boxes for Grandma's

Cartridges: Home de'cor, Story book, From my kitchen Colors: White, Ballet Blue, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green. The details: First I stamped the phrase on white cardstock, that had been cut with the Cricut using story book with garden green ink. Then framed it with the chocolate chip border. The flowers are cut from home decor and mounted on chocolate chip. The leaves are cut from garden green, and sparkled with iridescent ice. Then I adhered the whole project to the front of an altered box-that I picked up at Michaels. To make the box with stand time I Mod Podged it. It is going to be a Christmas gift for Dru's Grandma. So I finished it up by adding dividers-cut from from my kitchen. I stamped on labels like baby, wedding, get well, sympathy & one for each month. I also included a variety of cards. I am planning on this becoming a stamp camp for next year. TFL This one doesn't have any ink alteration but it happens to be in the same blog. te hee! Cartridge: Home De'cor A little bling for the birds eye! This is a box of cards I designed and filled for his other grandma. My little secret on this one. Is.. when you etch you use the reverse image, so I saved the images that had been cut from the vinyl- and used them on this box. I thought I was very resourceful. As always I enjoyed playing with my cricut. Both Grandma's absolutely loved them!!!!

Cartridge: Home de'cor. "to the most in love people I know" Jake and Kandi Merry Christmas! Cartridge: Paper Dolls For Dru's brother-in-law. He is into pirates and drinking. So we made him a set of booty glasses. cartridge: home de'cor We made this one for my nephews girlfriend. Glass is really a hard thing to take good pics of. Cartridge: Home De'cor This one was made for one of Dru's nieces. That just joined the family in October. Cartridges: Tink and friends This one was made for my very lovely niece. She loves fairies. However, Tink is just too common for here. She deserves something a little more unique. Love you Jo! Merry Christmas. Cartridges: Happily ever after, Storybook and this one is for Dru's sister in law. She loves horses. How funny that we took it from a fairy tale cartridge. But the horse is elegant. (as well as prince charming)

Christmas Tags

Snow friends tags I received the "snow friends" in the mail the week before Christmas. So I decided I should make every single one of them. So I could see how cute they are, and also, so I can say I used every single one hehe! A couple alterations: the pot is from "from my kitchen" and the top hat is from "pooh and friends". I couldn't believe this set didn't come with them, but still very cute, and I had a blast making them. These were attached to my parent gifts, which are etched candles. The snowmen are cut out a 2" and mounted on bordering blue. I cheated and drew the faces on. They don't cut out that great, and it is a pain to glue each piece on. I think they look adorable drawn though. These are the ones I did for the kids. They are cut at 4" and also mounted to bordering blue. Then I tied the tags onto the gifts. Which are just Christmas puppies, and a chocolate santa. Hopefully the kids will enjoy them though! Ok these are the parent gifts. I also did some for friends and neighbors. You can't really see the etching on these very well-but everyone is unique.

Bliss

Stamp set: snow swirled colors: mellow moss, brocade blue, pale plum embossed tree and snowflakes in white. This uses the mulberry technique. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/mulberry_batik/ I made a few of these for my the guys at my sisters work also.

Stars for Christmas

Some more Christmas cards that I made this year.. I also used the cricut to cut out the swirl star in white (then embossed in silver) and in mellow moss. The technique I used was Mulberry Batik http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/mulberry_batik/ colors are: brocade blue, pale plum, mellow moss. This card has such a fun feel to it. This one is just simple! Sometimes those are the best. The shooting star on this is made by cutting the star out on the cricut "home de'cor" then I embossed it in gold. I used the shadow technique for the star wheel, first in gold, then in always artichoke. The background color I chose was Rich Razzleberry.

A Very Mery Christmas-for a single man!

Glass Etched Water Jar, Just Buggin' Challenge #16

Just Buggin' Challenge #16 Santas Helper! "make a gift for someone you love" I have been making gifts all month long. So I really had a hard time deciding which one I wanted to enter. But this is my favorite. This one we did for his parents, and I do love them. It is a glass drink dispenser. Everytime we go over for dinner- they have this little 2 qt deally that has to be refilled every 2 min. So perfect, and even more special because we altered it. Hope you like it. Santa's Journey

The house was another find from the dollar store-several years ago. Which is colored in using my wonder crayons. I used my cricut Seasons cheer to cut out the silhouette of Santa and his reindeer. Just used white cardstock for the top layer. I embossed serene snowflakes in white then dobbed night of navy over the top. Used Dazzling Diamonds to make some sparkly snow.

Ho Ho Ho Ornaments

I did case the globes from someones card on SCS, actually there are a couple. So I wanted to try my own twist. I have the circle cutting system from CM but anyting will work. So start by cutting out the circles. Then I folder embossed them, I am just lovin' the swirls on those ornaments. Used the circle tab punch to make the top. Layered on white, then real red and handsome hunter. I also used the scallop oval punch and the matching inner oval. I made several of these to use as invitations for our family Christmas party. They were pretty fast and easy to make. Yet colorful and fun.

Christmas Cardinal

This is a clone on one of my trade cards. When I looked at it, it just seemed to say "make me a Christmas card" So I tweeked a couple things and here you go. I actually kind of like it. Not sure who this will be given to, but I enjoyed making it, and that's important part right? Cartridge: home de'cor Cardstock? Rose red, creamy caramel, close to cocoa, garden green. I stamped the background with the woodgrain background stamp in rose red. I highlighted the bird with chalk. Then just glued it all together.

Vintage Poinsettia

Here is my dollar store stamp again. This time I stamped it in Chocolate Chip, then used chalks (ruby red and always artichoke to color it in. It is bordered in chocolate chip. The next layer is craft white. I have been wanting to try this technique for a while. Where you use multiple stamps to create a background. I used En Francais. Speckled Wheel, the pine branch I can't remember what set that is from. But there are several out there. I embossed the always artichoke paper, then tied those layer together with some chocolate chip tafeta ribbon, and a ribbon slide. Then layered all of it on chocolate chip. I used this card as my November trade card, that was our Christmas theme. TFL

Buck Seasons Greetings JB #14

Just Buggin' Challeng Use Layers I actually used this card layout in one of my summer classes, I had some extras cut. The colors scream Christmas! =), and I have been dying to use by back woods set (I think it speaks Christmas)! Then comes along the challenge from just buggin' this week and it is to use layers. So here is how I did my layers. Cut the white cardstock out on a 4" from storybook, then added .25" horizontally and vertically, for the burgandy background. I love the design studio it makes it so easy to get the exact size you want....Well, this is the outcome-what do you think? The white is rolled in soft suede then stamped with Season's Greeting from four Christmas. The snowflakes are from Serene Snowflakes, stamped in always atrichoke. The card is then lined with a 3/8" bravo burgandy ribbon. I glued some of the chunky glitter using the tomboy adhesive, to give the snow effect. I sell cards at my sisters work every year, and this was the most popular, so I have 60 to make. It's a good thing I thrive on card making. TFL have a great day!
