All I knew is I wanted it to be done in fall colors. I wanted it to be elegant, with beautiful flowers. The flavor is Red Velvet cake with Cream cheese frosting. Most delicious cake ever!!!!

I asked what flavor cake I should do, the mom replied that she wanted vanilla, but Chocolate was her daughters favorite. So we decided since it was her daughters cake, perhaps it should be chocolate. These are the decorations I made for my dad's party. I chose to do a fishing theme. My dad use to fish his summers away. He always said, "time spent fishing can not be deducted from a man's life." I hope not! :)

I made this cake for my daughters 9th Birthday. She has been planning this party for a year. She was so excited to finally see it-made her day!!! She also got the Wizard of Oz of BlueRay. We have watched it 3 times in less than 24 hours. LOL

The poppies took me the longest to make. But they turned out wonderfully.

mmmmmm the top layer is raspberry, the bottom is a sugar cookie cake. The center is a raspberry cream cheese filling.

The slippers and Emerald City are made out of cream cheese sugar cookies, then iced and have sugar sprinkles on them.

My little family over at my moms to wish her a happy mother's day. My sister and I meet every year.

She brings the fruit, I bring the carbs!!!! This year I chose to make donuts.

These are baked not fried, and so easy to make. Here is the recipe if you'd like. 2 C flour 3/4 c sugar 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 TBS butter 2 eggs 3/4 C milk 1/4 tsp cinnamon Mix all ingredients together. Put 3Tbs in each donut slot. Such fabulous results. Hope you enjoy!

Iron Man Cake

Here is an Iron man I made over the weekend for a customer. The cake is chocolate with chocolate filling. The top is made of fondant, and so is Iron Man. It was a little hard to get the fondant to hold the shape while I placed it on the cake. The 6 yr old who it was fro was pretty stoked about it!! Yay! a happy customer-makes life good.

Formal Room

This is the other project I tackled: This is now my formal room. It was my office. So here is a pic of it as my office. Notice the pony walls, and the cupboards, the fry-sauce colored wall.

That wall's gotta go before tile and carpet!!!!!

My helpers--LOL this is my son and his friend, pulling down the wall!

Here is a picture of the tile I put down. I was going to extend it more down the hall and into the bath. I also had the intentions of doing a really cool pattern. Well, obviously NOT!

I love the Baja Breeze (LOL) and gold wallpaper.

I have been expressing my creativity on my walls, rather than on paper lately. This is how my room looked before. I have decided this year is about me. I started in December with my tattoo. This year I bought me a new bedroom set, and carpet, and painted my room. I wanted a more sophisticated look.. What do you think?

Putting on the texture

Ok, pretty much done. On the faux venetian plater wall, I painted the light color, then ragged over it with the dark color. Then wiped off spots randomly. I am totally in love with how it turned out.

It is also my bond mom's bday this month. So I made this lovely sunflower card for her.

Supplies: Dreamweaver clear embossing paste and #LJ902 stencil SU: ink pads, and dazzling diamonds

I discovered this technique a few years ago. I still love it is worth sharing. All you do is tape your stencil down, firmly. Then with a stipple brush start adding color from your ink pads. When you are done adding color do not remove the brass template. Now spread the "clear" embossing paste over the entire image. Next sprinkle with dazzling diamonds. Now gently remove the stencil. Let it dry for a few hours, and finish your project. Fun and so elegant looking. Everyone will be amazed that you made such a wonderful card. This is for my bond nephew. He turns 15 today!!! Happy Birthday Richard! I love you!

I used dreamweaver stencil LG849, with black embossing paste. After you spread the paste over the stencil, it is pretty simple. Just let it dry. Then I ripped the bottom, added the phrase from SU Wonderful Words, and the ribbon. Kind of a cool card for a 15 yr old boy, I think anyway. What do you think? Hope you have a wonderful day.

I think I will take a minute to explain my "bond" family today. Since I have a lot going on with them this month. Well 26 years ago, was the beginning. When me and my bff met (bond sister). Since then I have been taken in by her family. So it is not a family of blood but of bond. That being said, this is for my brother. He has lived here most of his life, and now is taking a plunge into his work and transferring half was across the US. I thought a hot hair balloon would be fitting.

Sparkly Butterfly

I was enjoying playing with my Stampin' Up! shimmer paint. Take a look at that pink background. It is regal rose cardstock, with champagne mist shimmer paint on top. While the paint was still wet, I sprinkled on some SU! chunky glitter.

I just love how the butterfly shimmers. She is on plain white paper, which has been shimmered first them the image was stamped on top in tempting turquoise.

though I love how it looks, I will NEVER do it. Well.....I was wrong. One late night I was working on the Faux Mother of Pearl technique. Making these flowers. When I glanced over and noticed that my sewing machine was staring at me! So I lovingly brought him into my craft room, and sewed this page. Ya know, it really wasn't that hard. I will do it again.

My nephew is getting married today! I wanted to share with you the card I made for them. I love the phrase "the best is yet to come" I have never used for a wedding card, but really it is very appropriate.

Supplies: Dreamweaver Stencil LJ902 DW:black embossing paste Mica powders Technique: Faux Mother of Pearl Misc stamp SU! DSP, and paper

So of course, first I did the faux pearl background. Then used the stencil and black paste to make the flower. After the flower dried, I put the stencil back in place, used some versa mark to make it sticky. Then I put the mica powders on with a paint brush. After that set for a little while, I sprayed it with sealant.

I used sweet treats to make this card for my sons 21st birthday. I had to make this card fun for him.

This project was also showcased at my last workshop. I used the glitter paint in Silver to color the flower. I also used the chunky glitter from Stampin' Up! in the center of the flower. The paper colors I chose were basic black and basic gray. Kind of a monochrome thing going on, with a splash of pink. Well, I hope you enjoy your day. Take care.

Copper Emboss FCCB #48

Challenge #48 Emboss It! Make a project incorporating some type of embossing It could be wet, hand embossing, folder embossing, etc. For my project I did Cricut embossing. Joy's Life has a pretty good tutorial to follow. I used her technique but it wasn't quit bold enough~ so I used a stylus to make the image a little darker.

The background is done using SU-friends, and SU-confetti. With Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight, and Marina Mist. Then I stamped 'best wishes' to finish it off.

Here is a close up of the flower. I like how this card turned out, I will try some other metals to see if I can get the embossing to show up better. Thanks for stopping by today!

Nothing shouts out spring louder to me than baseball! So I made this card to celebrate the beginning of baseball season, and the beginning of spring. I have noticed that the sun is coming up earlier, and staying out later. It makes me so happy.

I used a SU wheel to make the background of the card, and also to make matching wrapping paper. I love making my paper and card match.

Mini Milk Cartons

I have been dying to use my mini milk carton die from Stampin' Up!. I came across the pattern for the container online. So... whattta ya know I did it!!

(oh and look at the snow in the background)

It was actually pretty simple, I used a retired Simply Scrappin' set. They come complete with the fancy stickers and themed matching paper. Which makes scrapbooking and crafting easy. Everything coordinates so wonderfully. They just turned out so cute. I hope you enjoy them.

Faux Silk-friend to friend

I was working on a project for my stamp group. I came across this technique from my SU book. So I made this card which I do absolutely adore. However, it is not the project I used. Funny how that works. Anyway I still wanted to share it with you all.

Faux silk is very fun and easy to make. All you do is stamp and color your image on regular cardstock. Then use some plain ol' tissue paper, crumple it up, use a glue stick to rub all over your image, then spread the smoothed out tissue paper over the top. It feels so soft, and looks like silk. Very fun, and easy yet impressive technique. The ribbon is from Stampin' Up! I just added some bling to it with stamps!!! The colors I used, marina mist, old olive, and ruby red. Hello, Today I would like to share a gift we made for my daughters piano teacher.

I cut the box using tags, boxes and more. I cut it super large on some poster board paper. Then I rolled it in real red with a SU Wheel. The ribbon is real red polka dots. I filled the box with some of the delicious shortbread cookies, dipped in chocolate. I just wanted her piano teacher to know how much we really appreciate her. ~Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, and welcome to my blog... I would like to share another card I made with the letter press. This one I used a lot of my toys. The SU lots of love letter press, if you don't have it you need it! I used various papers, paper clip, ribbon, and my cute punch to cut out a place for you! I also used my craft ink pads on the background, see the little squares all over the place.

Again, a simple card that I love. I used a cuttle bug folder to emboss the background. The paper is pretty in pink, Love is inked in Turquoise, the frame and hearts are Early Espresso.

I told you I love the letter presses from SU! This one I colored all of it. I used real red, pixie pink, & orchid opulence, I just put that color everywhere. Oh the explosion of color made me happy!!!! The wagon is a Sizzix die, and the hearts are a SU punch. I love how it turned out.

Just Love

So here is the card we did for my last workshop. I gotta tell ya- I love SU! new letter presses. Make sure you use the right paper, and you are good to go. The paper used here is water color paper. Our textured paper also works very well. I can't wait for them to get more of these.

Another tip--use craft ink, the regular ink just doesn't cut it. This is when the spots are ideal-they reach into those little places.

So on this one I colored part of the lettering, obviously the red ones lol :)

and left the rest uncolored, so you can just see the embossing. I think it looks so cool. One easy step.

Valentine Treats

I created this project for my last SU workshop. I love the faux silk technique. It is so easy yet lends such an elegant touch to your project. I am working on a card that I will post soon. This is also very inexpensive to make.

Ok, now mine I modified from what we did at my stamp camp, because of course at the stamp workshop we used SU ribbon. Well on this project I used some wonderful Crinkle ribbon, that was sent to me by........... I would surely like to give her props for this wonderful product. I Like how whimsical the bows are. I also used it to make some leaves to go around the flowers.

see how beautiful the ribbon is, between the flowers. The flowers are made from paper, I am working on a tutorial for the flowers. I will be posting soon(ish).

For my project... I made a thank you/valentine gift for one of new friends. Her and her daughter have been great friends to me and my daughter. So I wanted to make her a special gift. There are also some delicious cookies inside! I will give it to her today, I hope her and her family love it.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #42 "Winter Warmies" Create a project using some kind of clothing on your project. And of course use your cricut.

I don't know where all of you guys are from, I am in Utah and it is cold. So mittens, hats, and scarves are a must. I made this layout using Winter Woodlands which has been my favorite cartridge lately- definitely not neglected. The snowflakes are from SU-Serene Snowflakes. I used the versa-mark resist technique. Colors I used are cherry cobbler, baja breeze, and night of navy. This was one of the funner projects I have done lately. It just seemed to come together nicely. Let me know what you think. I used SU-En Francais for the background, stamped in craft white. The phrase is from SU-four the holidays. The card it's self is cut from bashful blue, using the card feature on Winter Woodland. I cut a smaller snowflake out of Cookie Crumb. Just another simple card. Which truly are the best. Have a great, yet simple day.

I like how the oring says journey. Colors used: perfect plum, mellow moss, The image is colored with crayons. The background flowers are done with the chalks, using a stencil. And this ribbon adds class to any project. It is from Stampin' Up!
