JB #13 Very Merry Christmas

Just Buggin' Challenge #13: Sew it! sewing, faux sewing, or faux stitch stamps on your project! Cartridge: Christmas Cheer I sponged the background in rich razzleberry, and bermuda bay. The snowman is frosted in SU iridescent ice. I used snow swirled for the saying and the snowflake stamp. I have been dilegently trying to get my Christmas cards done. So far not to bad. My BF has a huge family, so that has doubled the amount that I need to make-LOL. Anyway good luck to all of you in getting your Christmas cards done. God Bless

Dragonfly Wishes

On the day I was playing with Home De'cor I made this card for my best friends, Amber's Birthday. I am going to say it again- I am absolutely in love with this cartridge. I used crushed curry for the background flowers, and dragonfly. Rich Razzleberry was used for the card back, and to outline all of the images. I used Dusty Durango on the other dragonfly, flowers and leaves. The twigs are cut out of creamy caramel, and sponged with chalk on the leaves. All the sparkly stuff is SU iridescent ice. I sponged some color onto the paper before adding the sparkle. I used the canvas background stamp, on the crushed curry paper, before stamping I put the piece that had been cut out of the middle of the twigs. So that the area for the words would be plain. Then added some brads they are just pumpkin pie, but match beautifully. I may have to duplicate this card so I have one in my portfolio. TFL, I would love feedback. Thanks, have a great day!!!

Love

I love my man!!! home de'cor used again if you don't have this cartridge-may I suggest you get it. ok enough :) I made this card for my amazing boyfriend. He has been having a hard time lately, needless to say I was not making things easy. A little insecurity going on. So I waned to make him a card to let him know that I love him. Outlines and frame done in chocolate chip, the background is soft sude, I ran it through the big shot, using the SU elegant boquet to emboss it. The branch is creamy caramel, flowers are white and dobbed with really rust pad. love is really rust, the bird is bordering blue. I used little diamonds to add some sparkle to the flowers and eye of the bird. Then I wrote some really mushy stuff inside. -he loved it. thanks for looking

#12 Stars, Hearts, and Circles

Just Buggin' Challenge 12- "Use Three Shapes" I am playing along with Kandi and the Just Buggin' team. The challenge was to use three shapes. Well I didn't want to be told I was a slacker, and use a train as a shape. I made sure I used three geometric shapes. Hearts, stars, and circles. Oh Well. I like how it turned out--so it stays. Thanks for looking. And thanks for inviting me to play Kandi. I am having fun, and getting cards done for the Grandma's Christmas Presents. Which is going to be a collection of cards in a box. YAY! go me!!!! TFL Take care-see you soon. Colors: Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, Summer Sun, Creamy Caramel, Rose Red, oh of course black and white. Stamps: the star is from scouts at play & woodgrain I made the saying on my computer, and cut it out. Cricut Cartridges: My community(train) , Happily ever after(heart), pooh and friends(stars).

Embossed Wishes

Set: With Gratitude Paper: DSP, old olive Used gold embossing powder to do the faux metal. I absolutely love this technique.

Fun Lovin' Wedding Wishes

Set: To have and to hold Paper: white, turquoise, basic gray, lovely lilac I was feeling very whimsical on this day. I blame it on that new BF again. I just stamped, cut, colored (with wonder crayons), embossed, cut some more. Then piled everything together. It a very fun card, and someday I will come across a couple who I will give it and wish them the best of happiness.

Spring Cards

Friendship Petals

I was messing around with the my punches and some DSP. This is what came about. I had some dragonfly brads that I thought added just that somethin' somethin' that it needed.

Baroque Birthday Wishes

I desperately wanted to try the faux linen technique. So here goes. First I stamp the baroque burgandy background in baroque burgandy. Then I used my paper cutter to make the score marks. The focal point is stamped with baroque burgandy and creamy caramel. Using the rock and roll technique. We did this at a workshop along with the faux tile. Everyone seemed to pretty wowed by it. i know I was.

Dark Winter Night

I honestly can't remember if I posted this or not. I can't find it. So maybe I did not. Oh well~ my favorite set her again. This time in dark colors. Paper: black, glossy, basic gray Ink: basic gray (on the background)

Poppin' Pastels

I made this one for a make and take project at a workshop. I had some new joiners to this group. So I thought I would show them some uses for the pastels. For the background I used the priceless brass template you just use a q-tip to add some color on the cardstock. I used sage shadow. For the center of the flowers I "stamp off" sage shadow. The butterflies are simply poppin' pastels. I used Summer sun and sage shadow to color them.

Heartfelt Thanks

Paper: glossy cardstock, tempting turquoise, sahara sand. Set: Heartfelt Thanks I used the metallic pencils to highlight the flower, after stamping on glossy cardstoc- where I didn't want color then I brayered over the glossy cardstock with tempting turquoise.

Stars

Paper: always artichoke, chocolate chips, dsp. Set: for father, classic star wheel I like how the stars cut perfectly out of the classic stars wheel. It so fun to play with. Here is another one that I did. Just simple using lovely lilac paper and eggplant ribbon.

On Board ~ Chipboard

Anyway..so this is some cards I made one day while playing with the onboard chipboard On the seaside one, I really did put regular play sand on it. My kids were thinking I was crazy. I don't know why I keep my iron in my craft room, no where near the ironing board in the laundry room. I know you crafty people know where I am coming from.

Glass Etching

November 15, 2009 Cartridge: Home De'cor Cartrige: Dreams Come True Cartrige: Home De'cor (my new fav) This last Sunday my BF and I tried our hand at glass etching. I am only showing little peeks-because they are for Christmas Presents. So I don't want to give away the surprise. Although after Christmas I will post full pics, and who they went to. We used a total of 11 cricut cartridges to make the stencils for these. Basically what you do is design your image. Then use your Cricut to cut it out of vinyl. Adhere your image to the glass. Apply a pretty thick layer of etching glaze. Let rest for 5-7 minutes, not too long or it is hard to rinse off. After it has set you rinse your image under water. Remove the stencil as you do this. Don't worry if your image looks faint as it sets it will darken. I almost cried the first time. Ya just get so anxious wanting something you made to turn out "perfect". Give it a few minutes and it will. Putting the stencils on the glass is a little tricky. May I suggest using as flat of pieces as you can find. We used very curved pieces, but be patient it will work for you. Hope you enjoy this little peek, TFL. Have a great day!

Cupcake Birthday Card

cheery cherry I used the Home Decor cartrige for the cricut to cut out this adorable cupcake and cherry. The frosting is creamy caramel, the base is chocolate chip, the bottom is lovely liac. I used iridescent ice to to cover the top and the cherry with sparkles. I used the cherry from the tart and tangy stamp set, stamped it in pixie pink, and used the crayons to color the stems with green galore. I used the cuttlebug folder to emboss the side where the pixie pink is. One other detail that is hard to see in the picture but looks cute in person. I used green galore and the texture wheel. I really love the new home decor! It has so much cute and fancy pictures. I had a lot of fun playing with it this week. TFL I hope you like it.
